The Delivery & Dispatch scheduling system is used by sales people, dispatchers, drivers and load builders. The system makes uses AJAX components to efficiently keep open pages updated without requiring constant refreshes which reduces the load on the server. Deliveries are added to the system using a simple form, a similar form is used to modify the delivery details or add notes. The system includes several ways to view the schedule. The standard view (below) shows deliveries scheduled from a particular store or location and is divided into two parts, at the top is a color coded five week calendar showing how many deliveries are schedule on each day of the month with the colors indicating whether or not new deliveries can be added to that day’s schedule. Below the calendar is a detailed schedule for one day including load assignment, truck and status (ready, loaded, gone out, etc). AJAX is used to continually update all data on the page and to send status updates to the server.
|Dispatchers also have several options for viewing and working with the schedule. For example the Dispatch Day view allows the dispatcher to see all the deliveries for one or more trucks on a particular day. There are similar views organized by vehical (truck) or by location (yard). AJAX is used in each of these send and receive data from the server. The Delivery & Dispatch system also includes several administrative and back-end utilities for such things as administrating the list of trucks and locations on the schedule and generating reports or downloading data from the system for import in to excel or other spread sheets.|
